The original Freedom Summer, also known as Mississippi Summer Program was a volunteer campaign whose main goal was to enable African-American voters to vote in Mississippi which was famous for not allowing voters due to their race. In Summer of 2021 we are still fighting to protect the vote and prevent voter suppression in the Black Communities of MS. We are conducting Voter Registration Drives, Voter Education Forums, Increase Community and Political Accountability, Community Organizing trainings, Feeding & Reading programs, Emotional/ Social support group, Violence Prevention and many other things to address the social disparities in our communities.
